WW1 remembered

To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Great War, former villager Chris Blenkarn is building a website dedicated to the memory of the First World War servicemen named on the village war memorial, those that survived and their extended families. See http://cottinghamsoldiers.org.uk.

A roll of honour with information on each of the village soldiers who gave their lives during the First World War is also available on Corby Borough Council’s website.

You can see shortened versions of the soldiers’ stories, which were exhibited at the World War I Armistice Day commemoration event, by downloading the PDF documents below. Note that these are large files (approx 5MB) so may take a little while to open.
