The Village WW1 Armistice Day Commemoration Event will take place at the Village Hall Annex straight after the Remembrance Service at the War Memorial, which starts at 10.45m.

A timetable for the event is below.

11.30am, event starts

We’ll be serving hot drinks, soup and cakes and you can browse our fascinating displays, including an exhibition commemorating the villages’ brave soldiers, vintage toys from Kettering Museum and crafts from the ‘Made in the Village’ group and Cottingham School.

11.45am to 1.10pm, live music from the era

Performed by Neil Campbell (accordion), the ‘Welland Valley Pals’ fiddle duo, Alright JACK saxophone quartet and Valley Voice, Cottingham and Middleton Community Choir.

1.15pm to 1.30pm, a moment to remember

We’ll be reading out a roll call of the men who gave their lives for us and holding a reflective two minutes silence. The Last Post and Reveille will also be played for us live by a professional cornet player from the Black Dyke Band.

2pm, event closes

The event will then stay open until around 2pm, for anyone who would like to pop in and take a look around.
