Important message from Cottingham Parish Council
You may have seen messages on the village social media, and a news story on the Evening Telegraph website, regarding a recent increase in Police presence in Cottingham.
Through their Police Liaison Representative, Cottingham Parish Council has been in direct contact with the Police, who have advised that, as Police investigations are ongoing, they are unable to provide any specific information at this time. However, the Police have asked residents to report any unusual activity, particularly in the small hours around 1am, by phoning 101 and quoting the reference “Operation Seasons”.
Understandably, people will be concerned, and this is not helped by unsubstantiated rumours. However, we are assured that, as soon as they are able, the Police will update Cottingham and Middleton Parish Councils, and we will then be able to update villagers through the usual channels. In the meantime, we would encourage residents to be vigilant and observant, and to share our confidence that the Police are doing everything in their power to keep us all safe. As soon as we know any facts, we will tell you.
Kind Regards,
Cottingham Parish Council
