The No.67 bus service from Gretton to Market Harborough ceased on 25 May following withdrawal of the Northants County Council subsidy. The Parish Councils in the villages served by the bus route, including Cottingham and Middleton, have approached Corby and Kettering Councils to see if they would consider subsidising the service so it can continue through to next year. We will keep you informed.
Meanwhile, Rutland County Council has approved additional funding to keep the RF1 (Corby to Oakham) bus service up and running following the decision by Centrebus to give notice on their contract. However, because the only bid received to run the service is considerably higher than the previous provider, the Council will be looking to see if there is a more cost-effective way to deliver the RF1 service before they finally award the new contract.
