No 67 bus service to cease by 21 July

Northamptonshire County Council has confirmed that they are to end bus subsidies as part of their 2018/19 budget.

This means that the subsidised No.67 bus service that runs through the villages from Gretton to Market Harborough will cease to operate no later than Saturday 21 July.

You may remember that this service was under threat back in 2016, when operator Centrebus said it was no longer able to offer the service as the County Council was withdrawing the subsidy. On this occasion, following a campaign led by villagers in Gretton, the bus service was saved and has continued to operate on a fully subsidised basis through Carter’s Travel, at a lower overall cost than the previous arrangement with Centrebus. The RF1 (Corby to Oakham) bus service will be unaffected.
