School charity day raises £500

Children from Cottingham C of E Primary School raised more than £500 for local and national charities at their recent annual Charity Day.

Key Stage 2 children set up a range of stalls including candy floss, tin can alley and ‘guess the number of sweets in a jar’, with Key Stage 1 children joining them for an hour of fun and games. Parents were also invited along to the school café to enjoy tea, cake and a chat.

The money raised will be split between two charities chosen by the children – Cancer Research UK and Corby Stands with Refugees, which has been set up to provide a place for the people of Corby to come together in aid of helping those affected by the refugee crisis.
