Church clock relaunch
June 8 @ 10:30 am - 11:30 am

From Cottingham Parochial Church Council
We are delighted to let you know that the clock at St Mary Magdalene Church has now been repaired and will be set going again at 10.30am on Sunday 8 June.
We’d like to invite you to join us at the church to hear the clock chime 11am, for the first time in more than 10 years!
Please gather outside the church from 10.30am. We’ll be serving teas and coffees after the 11am chime.
When the clock worked previously, it chimed on the hour throughout the night. However, in the interests of being a good neighbour, the clock has now been fitted with a night silencer. Guided by the Noise Act 1996, the clock chimes will initially be silenced through the ‘quiet’ hours of the night so the clock will chime from 7am to 11pm. We will be keeping this under review.
The clock repair and refurbishment has been made possible thanks to fundraising and generous donations from villagers, and a £250 grant from the Worshipful Company of Clockmakers.
