“I would like to thank everybody for their sympathy on the passing of my husband Les.
“The outpouring of love and support has moved me and the community in Middleton and Cottingham are really ‘something else’.
“I have received over 50 cards, villagers have baked cakes for me and also some lovely flowers and plants.
“I have found it very difficult to come to terms with life after Les. He was such a larger than life character and I apologise if I have been less than welcoming whilst I have been trying to regain my composure.”
